“Be still and know that I am God.” -Psalms 46:10
I sat and I asked the question, “How does one surrender?”
I heard, Don’t resist what is.
Resistance is sharp, like a jagged edge where nothing can release and nothing can come in. First soften, then begin- all of the answers are within. First soften, then you will hear, through the heart, not the ears.
Through this portal of the divine, a light will shine.
First soften, then you will see the higher guidance that you seek.
As long as we are having this human experience, it is reasonable to assert that we will not feel “good” all of the time. When we are disconnected from the Truth of ourselves, we may run and hide from the shadowy aspects of the mind because we fear it is who we really are, and that there is no way out. Like a dark tunnel that we may never escape. Although these feelings that we may associate with being “bad” may be painful, or rather uncomfortable, we need not judge them, or push them down when they come up, thus storing them in our vessels for any longer than the experience of their energy in motion as it moves through us.
When there’s space, we become clearer, no longer backed up with the junk of judgements, resentments and fear that can often paralyze us, or rather cause us to go on endless pursuits of external pleasures, seeking but never finding. In this space, we can ignite our senses in each moment, and ride each emotion all the way through, knowing that it is this ride that connects us to the source of all creation and to our peace.
However, what can happen when we only want to feel “good” is we can find ourselves in the resistance of the stuff that simply wants to be acknowledged, and felt, and that resistance only persists what we “don’t want”. This can result as blockages in our energy flow and affect our ability to be present. The gift of the present moment is found in the ripe opportunity for allowing what is. The “good” , the “bad” and the “ugly.” We are not our “good” feelings, nor are we the “bad” ones. What we are is the One who witnesses both. We are a channel that can broadcast on many stations. We can imagine ourselves as a line that flows through the limitless energy available to us. When we witness, the reward will be better than simply feeling good. We will experience bliss- the perfection of God’s love through the embracing and allowing.
Would you like to seize the opportunity available to you and ask yourself,
What is coming up for me now? What am I honestly feeling?
Sit with it.
sit with it until you inevitably laugh about it.
This is your invitation to be where you are at. There is no rush to be somewhere else now. There is no final destination to get to, but rather the ride between each point of destinations. On this ride, stay present to all that is happening around you and you will see the instructions to your joy clearer than ever. They are given to you when you stop seeking for them from a place outside of you. You are whole. I love you.
